the creation of a world that reflects this spirit of Oneness in all its diversity.
As meditators we can symbolically stand together with all those actively working to create right human relations, and invoke the aid of the Forces of Light in support of these events.

Silence at the United Nations
The Spiritual Caucus at the United Nations gathers in the vicinity of UN Headquarters in New York (September - June) on the third Thursday every month for 30 minutes of silence followed by 30 minutes of dialogue, sharing insights and exploring ways to use an inner focus in service of the work of the UN.

International Day of Co-operatives
Theme 2023: Cooperatives: partners for accelerated sustainable development.
The cooperative movement encompassing financial organisations, farmers, producers and consumers is playing an incredible role in pioneering new ethics and values in business and economics. This Day, which is observed on the first Saturday of July, marks the formation in 1895 of the International Cooperative Alliance. Today the Alliance has more than 1 billion cooperative members who belong to 3 million cooperaatives worldwide.

Full Moon - Cancer
Since ancient times human beings have honored the full moon as a time when the sacred is most accesible. It is a time of light - the moon reflects the light of the sun onto the face of the earth. In astrology this is a time when the qualities and potentials of the zodiacal sign of the sun are especially available to humanity for use in service.
During the full moon religious and esoteric groups around the world use the opportunities of this time to vizualize light and love and spiritual power flowing into humanity and strengthening all that is being done to help prepare the way for a world of unity, justice and peace; a world in which the Sustainable Development Goals will be achieved.

International Scientific Conference on Millets, Dehradun, India
The UN is observing 2023 as International Year of Millets. Millets can grow on arid lands with minimal inputs and are resilient to changes in climate. They are therefore an ideal solution for countries to increase self-sufficiency and reduce reliance on imported cereal grains.
Marking the Year, the International Association of Students in Agriculture and Related Sciences is hosting this major conference, on the theme: Millets for Sustainable Food System and Climate Adaptation.

Theme 2023: Accelerating the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals
The AI for Good Global Summit is the leading action-oriented United Nations platform promoting AI to advance health, climate, gender, inclusive prosperity, sustainable infrastructure, and other global development priorities. AI for Good is organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) – the UN specialized agency for information and communication technology – in partnership with 40 UN sister agencies and co-convened with the government of Switzerland.

UN High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, New York
Theme 2023: Accelerating the recovery from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and the full implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development at all levels
This Forum has been established as the main UN body to review progress towards the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the SDGs. Its task is to provide political leadership, guidance and recommendations on the 2030 Agenda's implementation and follow-up; keep track of progress; spur coherent policies informed by evidence, science and country experiences; as well as address new and emerging issues.
The HLPF will also review in-depth Sustainable Development Goals 6 on clean water and sanitation, 7 on affordable and clean energy, 9 on industry, innovation and infrastructure, 11 on sustainable cities and communities, and 17 on partnerships for the Goals.
The Sustainable Development Goals can only become a focus for the living will in humanity if and as people of goodwill in every sector of society are inspired to contribute towards their achievement. Governments will only act to the extent that people of goodwill want them to act. The Forum includes representatives of civil society as well as governments.
World Goodwill's Cycle of Conferences Visualisation initiative is placing a focus on the Forum, relating the Forum's role in reviewing progress towards achievement of the goals of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda to the spiritual understanding that all forms of life have their own cycle of usefulness and sustainability requires the transformation and change of systems that inhibit evolution, and the path to right relations.
As part of the NGO Unitive Thematic Cluster Lucis Trust and World Goodwill are joining with other NGO's with UN accreditation that share a unitive worldview to offer an informal side event during the High Level Forum.

2023 Theme: Post-Pandemic Priorities for the Human Planet: Strengthening Community Connections
This Forum has been jointly organised by the European Commission's Joint Research Centre, the Group on Earth Observations (GEO), the Columbia Climate School's Center for International Earth Science Information Network (CIESIN), and the Sustainable Development Solutions Network.
The Human Planet is an initiative in the GEO work programme supporting the GEO Strategic Plan 2016-2025. The Human Planet aims to support novel evidence-based assessment of the human presence on the planet Earth. The partners of the Human Planet are committed to develop a new generation of measurements and information products that provide new scientific evidence and a comprehensive understanding of the human presence on the Planet in support of global policy processes with agreed, actionable and goal-driven metrics.

On June 8, 2023, the UN General Assembly resolved, by consensus, to decare July 12 as International Day of Combating Sand and Dust Storms.

World Youth Skills Day
Theme 2023: Skilling teachers, trainers and youth for a transformative future
The UN estimates that in 2022 a total of 73 million youth around the world were unemployed. In 2020 it is estimated that 23% of youth were not in employment, education or training.
World Youth Skills Day focuses attention on the importance of young people learning skills as a way of reducing unemployment and under-employment. The 2023 theme highlights the essential role that teachers, trainers and other educators play in providing skills for youth to transition to the labour market and to actively engage in their communities and societies.

International Moon Day
2023 Theme: Beginning the New Lunar Journey for Humanity
Declared an International Day by the UN General Assembly in 2021, Moon Day is part of the UN Agenda on International Cooperation in the Peaceful uses of Outer Space. The day marks the anniversary of the first landing by humans on the Moon.
Celebrations will also consider the achievements of all States in the exploration of the Moon and raise public awareness of sustainable Moon exploration and utilization.

Theme 2023: Anyone can drown, no one should
This global advocacy event serves as an opportunity to highlight the tragic and profound impact of drowning on families and communities and offer life-saving solutions to prevent it. International Day of Friendship
United Nations International Day of Friendship highlights friendship as the fundamental glue uniting people across diverse cultures and backgrounds; an essential requirement in building the Culture of Peace and fundamental to the work of the United Nations.
The idea of friendship permeates the work and ideals of the United Nations. The Charter proclaims that one of the purposes of the Organization is "to develop friendly relations among nations". These same words appear in the preamble to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. UNESCO’s Constitution speaks of the need for peace based not just on the "political and economic arrangements of governments", but on the "intellectual and moral solidarity of mankind". And the UN Alliance of Civilizations initiative aims to improve cooperation and understanding among nations and peoples across cultures and religions, including to counter the forces that fuel extremism.
